Urban Forest Series Bookcase

Our Urban Forest Series takes inspiration from the work of mid-century designers, combining aspects of naturalism, organicism and Japanese minimalism.  Our Urban Forest Series Bookcase gives an earth-conscious update to iconic mid-century casegoods by highlighting a reverence for the natural beauty of wood. We take this idea even one step further by fabricating this stunning piece of sustainably harvested and reclaimed wood. 

The horizontal shelf members of the Urban Forest Series Bookcase are of old-growth California Redwood, salvaged and re-milled from a decommissioned all-wood bridge, originally built nearly a century ago. The cabinet boxes and faces are fabricated of solid Shamel Ash lumber, milled from a tree that grew for decades in the Southern California neighborhood of Temple City. Finished in clear conversion varnish for durability.
